Biomedical Engineering Group, Department of Systems Engineering and Automation from the School of Engineering, University of Sevilla is investigating a new paradigm applied telecare patients with chronic renal failure.

The system design is based on information technologies and communications and includes new methods and multiscale computational modeling technology. A Real Time
The objectives of the project Nefrotel emphasizes the generation and integration of custom multi-scale clinical knowledge in real time, incorporating information from the molecular to the systemic level. As a result you can achieve immediate detection of failure, both the patient and therapeutic devices and the ability to forecast and real-time modification of renal replacement therapy.
Laura María Roa Romero, project leader and professor at the School Of Civil Engineering, told Europa Press that "though there are biocompatible dialyzers, patients need a safe and reliable external care, especially if we consider that the renal failure have a multitude of changes."

Another Nefrotel objectives is to provide the universal access patient Telecare service which is independent of technology. To this end we have defined a multi-tier architecture, distributed and standards-based, which ensures a connection from the different scenarios with priority control, and security features, reliability and privacy to be required to exchange and processing of such information sensitive. The architectural design is oriented on reusability, interoperability, and scalability of their resources.
